June 30th Deadline for Invest in Youth LOI 

We are pleased to announce the launch of our cornerstone initiative, Invest in Youth. This year, we will deploy $2 million to Brooklyn-serving nonprofit organizations working with young people, ages 16-24, that are:

  • Expanding opportunities for positive youth development and leadership
  • Increasing educational and economic opportunities for court-involved youth
  • Reducing school suspensions and youth arrests
  • Increasing access to resources and services that empower immigrant families

Grantmaking Program: We are now accepting Letters of Inquiry for the Invest in Youth Grantmaking Program. The deadline to submit is Friday, June 30. View eligibility guidelines, application instructions, and FAQ here.

Incubator Project Kicks Off in June

Three start-up organizations have been selected to participate in our first-ever Incubator Project through the Brooklyn Accelerator. We look forward to introducing them to you next month!

Opportunites & Funding

Apply for the Centerbridge Foundation and Bain & Company 2015 Partnership Grant, which provides up to $500,000 over four years, consulting services, sponsorship for nonprofit management education, and more. Proposals are due by June 15. More information here.

The New York Council for the Humanities awards Reading & Discussion Grants of up to $1,000 to support qualified organizations in developing reading and discussion programs for general public audiences. Apply here by June 21 for the upcoming year.

Department of Health and Human Services RFPs: "New Pathways for Fathers and Families" for programs that focus on helping fathers establish or strengthen positive parental interaction, and "Responsible Fatherhood Opportunities for Reentry and Mobility" to support prisoner reentry programs that provide pre- and post-release responsible fatherhood services for formerly incarcerated fathers. Deadline for both: July 7.
