Four Brooklyn middle and high schools will implement pioneering restorative justice practices next school year thanks to an exciting new pilot program led by Brooklyn Community Foundation. In a first for the Foundation, the program will work in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and Mayor de Blasio’s Leadership Team on School Climate and Discipline.

Last week, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy announced Brooklyn Community Foundation as a recipient of its 2015 Impact Award! We are one of just five foundation winners nationwide, and the only community foundation to be recognized. Last week, we launched Brooklyn Accelerator, a unique component of our new community impact strategy. Among its many functions, the Accelerator will aim to connect community-based nonprofits to new donors and board members and provide training and technical assistance to nonprofits.
