This month, our President & CEO Dr. Jocelynne Rainey was a guest on the SiriusXM program Lurie Daniel Favors Show, speaking about her recent article “Reparations, Not Charity” from the spring issue of Nonprofit Quarterly. Dr. Rainey was joined by her co-author Lisa Pilar Cowan, the Vice President of Programs at the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation. 

Dr. Rainey and Cowan spoke with host Lurie Daniel Favors about reframing philanthropy in a way to uplift and materially support BlPOC leaders in their work towards collective liberation. 

“I'm really proud that both our foundations are already doing some of this work that is moving the money to the experts,” Dr. Rainey shared. “[We understand that] we are not the experts. The money needs to go to the experts.”
