NY1 Spotlights Brooklyn Community Foundation's Spark Prize and Our Partners at The Campaign Against Hunger

NY1 Spectrum News shone a spotlight on our Spark Prize and the impact of our investment on past winning organization, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH), in a recent feature. Our President & CEO Dr. Jocelynne Rainey spoke to the motivation behind the Spark Prize, sharing:

“This is the type of nonprofit that we want to support as we think through, ‘What does racial justice look like?’ It looks like this, it looks like those nonprofits that are actually in the community doing the work, changing lives.”

NY1 also spoke with The Campaign Against Hunger's Founder and Executive Director Dr. Melony Samuels, as well as TCAH volunteers and clients. Watch at ny1.com or below:

“It is important that families who could not afford food and could not go to the nearest farmers market that have really expensive produce can get produce right in their neighborhood from their backyard.”
