As we head towards the new year and you plan your year-end giving, please refer to our upcoming deadlines and instructions for giving at Brooklyn Community Foundation.

Year-End Timeline Reminders

We strongly recommend our Donor Advised Fund (DAF) community plan ahead by making their year-end contributions and grant recommendations as soon as possible via their donor portal. If you need support accessing or navigating the portal, please contact Donor Services at donorservices@bcfny.org. 

• December 10th: Deadline to submit final DAF grant recommendations so that the grant is disbursed by the end of the year. Please note that it takes approximately 10 business days to process DAF grant recommendations.

• December 30th: All donations to your DAF at Brooklyn Community Foundation must be made on or before December 30th. This includes all security and transfer contributions which must be completed by the 30th as our office is closed on December 31st.

To contribute to your Donor Advised Fund at Brooklyn Community Foundation​

• Via check: Please make your check out to “Brooklyn Community Foundation” with the name of the fund in the memo section of the check and send to:

• Via stock contribution: Please contact Donor Services at donorservices@bcfny.org and include the name of your fund and the form you are requesting.. 

• Via wire transfer: Please contact Donor Services at donorservices@bcfny.org and include the name of your fund and the form you are requesting. 

To contribute to Brooklyn Community Foundation

• From your Donor Advised Fund:

  • Log into your donor portal and under the ‘Grants’ tab > ;Recommend a Grant’ > select ‘Brooklyn Community Foundation’ as the grant recipient. Under ‘Grant Purpose’ > ‘Special Instructions not to appear on the letter’ > please include DAF to BCF transfer.’

Office Schedule

Brooklyn Community Foundation staff are available Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm EST and Fridays 9am-1pm EST. Our office will be closed on Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st.
