“Fight Gone Bad” Does Good for Brooklyn’s Communities

On Saturday, November 4th, dozens of brawny Brooklynites formed teams to compete for the top spot in CrossFit South Brooklyn’s annual Fight Gone Bad, raising $21,744 to support high-impact initiatives through our Community Fund!

This is Gowanus-based Cross Fit South Brooklyn’s fifth year in a row raising funds for Brooklyn’s communities through this true grit competition. We are so grateful for their continued commitment to supporting local nonprofits, under the leadership of CFSB owner David Osorio.

Thank you David and all who competed and contributed!

So, what exactly happens in Fight Gone Bad? For one minute each, participants throw a 20lb ball at a 10ft target, sumo dead-lift 75lbs, jump on and off a 20in box, push-press 75lbs, row. Repeat three times. Winning teams are crowned for top speed and top generosity.

This year’s winning fundraising teams are:

  • Superheroes Gone Bad: $4,448
  • Foam Roller Derby: $3,000
  • Ziggy WODdust and the Squatters from Mars: $2,929

The competition is heated and the participants get a little bit crazy—note the creative costumes and team names—but there’s no better way to spend a Saturday morning in Brooklyn supporting vital community programs.

If you’re part of a business that wants to give back to Brooklyn, get in touch to discuss ways you too can create a fun and engaging event that raises much-need funds.
