Learn More at SparkPrize.org
The Spark Prize is named for our mission to spark lasting social change in Brooklyn and is the signature program of our Brooklyn Accelerator, a hub for building capacity and resources in Brooklyn’s nonprofit community.
The Spark Prize provides annual recognition and meaningful support to organizations with a strong track record of addressing critical challenges and opportunities in Brooklyn. We aim to celebrate organizations that demonstrate creativity, impact, and healthy disruption within their field, as well as a strong vision for the future of their organization, in Brooklyn and beyond.
In 2016, we will award up to $600,000 through the Spark Prize. Five winning nonprofits will receive the $100,000 prize in general operating support grants distributed over a two or three year period. In addition, 20 finalists will each receive up to $5,000 in matching funds on #GivingTuesday—the annual national day of giving observed the Tuesday after Thanksgiving—to encourage local donors to support to their work.
